Welcome to Ali's blog. A blog that has absolutely nothing to do with juggling monkeys. It doesn't really have anything to do with much, just me rambling on about random things.
If you're one of my friends and are looking for ideas of what to buy me for birthday or Christmas, try my wishlist:
arthrogryposis waffler? For some reason the google page is saying of about 2, but that could be because of the sponsored link, but sponsored links shouldn't count as they haven't matched both words.
I'm bored. It's terrible that I can be sitting in a library, surrounded by books, with computers attached to the internet and be bored. The problem is that I could start reading a book, but I have 23 books on my library card already! (yes, that's a lot, as staff I'm allowed 24 as opposed to the usual 12) I really don't want to start reading any more books, I need to read the ones at home and bring them back. My car is, obviously, still at the garage, so I can't go home for lunch, which is annoying, because at home there are millions of things that I could be doing, including the most important of letting Rex out, the poor thing has been quite neglected this week. So here I sit, bored, maybe I will google random things. Ooh, I could do some googlewhacking, haven't done that for ages.
Well, my car made it home on Monday, then yesterday I got part of the way to the garage and it died, in the middle of a main road in the city at 8:15, good time! I was giving Helen a lift as the Skoda garage is near where she works, so she and I started trying to push it to the side and thankfully an AA van was behind us and the man got out and helped. He was very nice and it sounded like if I wasn't a member he would have helped anyway, except I am in the RAC, so he left me to it :-) the RAC man came out, took him about an hour to get to me, which considering the volume of traffic wasn't bad. He agreed that it was the alternator, apparently it wasn't charging the battery at all, so he charged battery a bit and put a battery pack in to get me working, then followed me to the garage. When he had a closer look it turned out the cable connecting the alternator to the battery was corroded through (I wondered why I hadn't noticed, but it was covered by some sort of rubber cap thing, which he removed to have a look). Anyway, the car was then at the garage all day. It's still there :-( they can't get a cable until Thursday and apparently there's quite a few other things that it failed M.O.T on, so they have to get lots of parts for Thursday, but on Thursday they probably won't have time to fix it. So no car for who knows how long. Inconvenient. Oh and it'll all cost about £400, so that's a pain. Oh well.
I am sitting here on my lunchbreak instead of going home to check on Rex, because I am worried my car might not get me back to work if I go home (the battery is having trouble). This means that I have an hour and a half to kill. I've managed to kill an hour already, but I thought I could blog for a few minutes. Of course, as always, when I have time to blog I can't think of anything to blog about. My life seems very hectic at the moment, particularly with lots of things going on for Hullabaloo, but after this Sunday we'll take a break for a few weeks, so that'll be nice. I'm taking a week off work as well, so I can relax and play computer games and stuff :-) It will be nice not to be worrying about whether I've got everything organised.
