Okay, there's a lot to blog about, but it's late, so I'll just talk about the big thing, briefly: Helen and Rob's Wedding was officially the best wedding ever! Even people who really hadn't thought the idea of a pirate reception would work, had a great time and were glad they came. It was just so much fun and less scary than a normal boring wedding. It took away the formality and made it more relaxing. Even though I was busy doing lots of things including a scary moment where I had to do a speech, I still had fun. My top tips for doing a best person speech:
5) Keep it fairly short.
4) Include embarrassing photo's it takes the emphasis off you for a while and gets people looking elsewhere.
3) Write all your notes on small cards, they're less rustly than paper.
2) Insult the groom (like you wouldn't) but also be complimentary about the couple.
And my ultimate top tip of all, most importantly:
1) Wear a costume that includes a fake head. It's so much less scary when people can't see you and you can't really see them because your field of vision is limited to the 2 people directly in front of your eye holes. If you do get embarrassed no one can see you blush, it's the perfect way to go. Also everyone finds it amusing to be addressed by whatever character you are dressed as, so they're already in an even better mood than usual (and at weddings they're usually already pretty happy).
I'm not joking btw, I really did wear a fake head for my whole speech. I really don't know if I'd have been able to do it very well at all without it. I was dressed as a legoman pirate you see. In fact I'll put a picture, so you really can see:
Random Observation of the day
If I'd left it much longer it would have been a whole month since I blogged, isn't that terrible? I just couldn't be bothered. Well, I was very busy too. I couldn't really be bothered last time I blogged either, hence the lack of an observation, but no one seemed to notice, or care.
