The Farmville habit:I hate
Farmville. For those who don't know (presumably you are the ones who've managed to keep off
Facebook), Farmville is a flash game where players have a little farm on which they grow plants, put buildings etc. What exactly is the point to it? You have to keep going back to harvest the crops before they die. Your trees and animals need tending. It fills your wall with posts about fuel and eggs and things. And why on earth can you get cottages from eggs anyway? What kind of freaky chicken lays an egg with a pink cottage in? It's just a completely pointless waste of time. I'm not even really sure it can be called a game, I mean, what defines a game? Surely there should be some goal or something, or at the very least an element of fun?
What annoys me most about Farmville? The fact that I'm currently level 55, and feel the need to play it most days, because I am not yet the maximum level, I have not yet won all of the ribbons available (and probably never will as they keep introducing new things). I have at least managed to play slightly less than I was and even have a friend who has overtaken me levelwise, that was hard to allow, but I'm forcing myself not to try to catch up. I hate having an obsessive personality. It ruins so many things that should be fun, like PS3 games that now have to be played with trophies in mind.
