I figured I should blog, but I can't really think of anything exciting. Our boiler broke, it only seems to break when it's cold, maybe the cold causes it. Well, it's not entirely true that it doesn't break when it's warm, the pilot light goes out on a fairly regular basis, but usually you relight it, sometimes it's harder than others, but the only times it's completely failed to relight no matter how hard we tried and we've had to call someone out have been when it's been cold, twice in the winter, and now, just as it got cold again. Only the second time in the winter (or it may have been spring, whatever, it was cold, there's not always a huge amount of difference between the seasons, I probably blogged about it at the time, you could check the archives if you're that bothered about it, see if I'm going mad) it didn't actually need someone to fix it, I called someone, but we kept trying for a couple of days when waiting for them and about an hour before they were due it worked, so I cancelled, thus saving money. This time I'm not getting it fixed, I don't see the point in keeping on paying people to fix something that's quite clearly broken, very definitely past it, with the ludicrously high call out charges it works out at about £80 a time, so I'm getting a new boiler, and central heating. I am joining the modern world! We will have these newfangled radiator things. Amazing. Not till next weekend though, so I'm using other people's showers.
