Haven't had time to post for a while, been busy, which is odd, since I'm on holiday this week. What have I been doing? Well, after work on Saturday I went to Swansea to spend the weekend staying with my friend Julie, who I've known since I was 11. We had fun, did some filming of her and her housemate leaping around in superhero costumes, in theory this was so I could make their kidz club a promotional video for getting helpers, in reality it was just an excuse to get everyone jumping around making fools of themselves. The weekend went really quickly. I left Jules' house at 8 on Monday morning when she went to work, got back to Leicester, did a bit of shopping, not much else on Monday.
Tuesday
On Tuesday I drove my friend Phil to
Louth to pick up his new
MG Midget. Helen came with me to keep me company on the way back, which was good, as it was 2 hours there and 2 hours back, plus about an hour for Phil and the car's previous owner's Dad to remove wheels off the other MG so Phil could take them too (they're scrapping the other one) and for them to sort out all the paperwork.
In the evening 12 of us went to see
Raiders of the Lost Ark which was very cool, though very bad quality print :-( ahh well, never mind, we got to see it on the big screen.
Wednesday
The last 3 days have been spent helping Harriet to make things for her wedding, orders of service and party bags. It is getting a little tedious, but it's not too bad and quite satisfying to have made so many. On Wednesday 5 of us had dinner at Harriet's, that was a lot of fun, though I think
Shloer makes us go a bit silly, are they sure it's non-alcoholic? I found a new limited edition Shloer, which was White grape, rhubarb and ginger, being a sucker for anything that says limited edition, or special offer I had no chance of resisting this as it was limited and on offer. It was an interesting flavour, it reminded us of yoghurts and rhubarb and custard sweets, but was nice, not sure you'd want to drink much of it though.
Thursday
Orders of service making all day. Then home, took my neighbour Beth to the train station and then had some time to relax, watched the last ever Buffy. It was all right. Quite good I guess. Was disappointed that Angel wasn't on though, instead there was a programme about Buffy, which wasn't particularly exciting.
Today
Spent day at Harriet's again this time making party bags.
I think I've pretty much filled you in on what I've been doing then, so nothing particularly exciting, just a lot of things that have kept me away from my computer. I'll be busy all weekend too with finishing (okay, that's a little optimistic, having another good go at then) the bags for Harriet and Will's wedding,
Hullabaloo planning meeting, friends for dinner (to use Mary's regular joke: "we can't afford chicken"), church, going to Derby and sleeping.
Next week will be more relaxing because I'll be back at work.
