If you read
Helen's Blog then you'll have seen that I dragged her along to a family do in Birmingham. It was my Aunt and Uncle's Ruby (40th) wedding anniversary. She mentioned in her blog that she has now met a scary amount of my relatives and that I could expand. Well, yes, I was working this out last night and I think that Helen must have met most of my family now, pretty weird to have met so many family members that you have no association with. She has met my only living grandparent (on separate occassions to this event, she's on the other side of the family to this Aunt and Uncle), my parents, my siblings and my brother's girlfriend (all of these were also on separate occassions as none of them managed to make the do yesterday). She has also met all of my Aunts and Uncles on my Dad's side of the family, my Great Aunt, 2 cousins and the wife of one of those, 4 second cousins (2 of whom she has now seen as many times as me, the other 2 I had met once briefly before) and one of the Uncles on my Mum's side of the family (again a separate occassion to this meeting). If she meets my other Uncle then she'll have met all of mine and my parents immediate family! Maybe I should take her to visit him, it does mean going to the South of France though.
Haven't done anything else particularly exciting, went out to dinner on Sat with Helen, her family and Mark. That was nice. Then we went to this thing on Sunday and got to watch the video of my Aunt and Uncle getting married, which was entertaining for many reasons, it's interesting to see old film, but also the fact that my Dad was in his early teens at the time made it quite interesting to see, I didn't recognise him with hair! He appeared to be wearing a pink jumper when he was kicking a football around in the garden with his Mum and some other people, that was odd. Why pink? I have a vague recollection of seeing a little bit of this video before, I certainly remember the pink jump, when I questioned Dad about it the last time he insisted it wasn't pink and seemed to think the film being transferred onto video has altered the colours, hmm, very believable.
