Welcome to Ali's blog. A blog that has absolutely nothing to do with juggling monkeys. It doesn't really have anything to do with much, just me rambling on about random things.

Right then, I'm making a blog. Quite why I'm doing this is beyond me. It just seemed like everyone had one and I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon, okay, so it's taken me quite some time to find the bandwagon or something. So, I guess I should make this interesting somehow. Not sure how I'm going to manage that though, I could think of something specific to ramble about, la la la, nope not really succeeding, just writing drivel again. Oh well, never mind. I guess the main reason for having this is that I figured I could ramble here and avoid cluttering up my websites with pointless ramble. In all likelihood only about 3 people will ever read it.

I could talk about the approach of Christmas or something. I was wondering about Brussel sprouts the other day. I mean, why are they called Brussel sprouts? Is there any other kind of sprout that is maybe less well known? I can't think of any other sprouts, so why don't we just call them sprouts? I guess sometimes we do, but not all the time. Perhaps I could make it my goal to force everyone to call them sprouts. Or not, 'cos I don't really care, actually, I'd be more happy if people referred to them as those vile green things that turn up at Christmas. Why is it that we have to have them at Christmas? Is it that Christmas food is so nice that you have to have something really horrible to balance it or something? I don't know. I guess some freaks like them. They are insane. I guess I quite like playing the whole "sneaking the sprouts off your plate and onto someone elses while they aren't looking" game, that can be fun.

The thing is that I don't really want to be thinking about Christmas yet. I mean I have a work (Glenfield group of Leicestershire Libraries) Christmas meal on Thursday and a homegroup (people from my church -Church in the Community Leicester- meet in small groups during the week, called homegroups or cell groups or whatever) Christmas meal on Sunday. It's not really that near Christmas is it? I usually have a rule that Christmas stuff can't start before my birthday (7th Dec) which is Saturday, so that rule is being broken this year, how sad. I would much rather have all Christmas stuff quite close to Christmas. I shouldn't have bought Christmas presents yet, what is the world coming to? Thinking about it the world did this ages ago, it's just that I'm finally joining them, drat.

I'm really hungry, could be 'cos I didn't bother to have breakfast when I got up, I often do this, I think of more important things to do, which is stupid. I think maybe I should adjust my priorities so that food comes higher than using the computer. I need to go to the post office to get a package weighed so I can tell my ebay buyer how much it'll be, but I can't, 'cos I'm waiting for NTL to come and move the cable box. They are supposed to come some time in the morning, so of course they'll probably turn up at 11:59. They'd better come this morning as I have to go to work in the afternoon.

I could stop being so boring now and post this I guess. Maybe writing such a boring first entry is a good thing, if I made it too interesting I would get people's hopes up, they'd all begin expecting something amazing, now it can only get better. :-)
